Drawing as a way of making and unmaking
bonart girona - 21/07/25

The exhibition explores drawing as an essential language with Fer i Desfer. Alguna cosa t'esa t'esma mirar en espaí l'Aurora (Sant Esteve street in Madremanya). A tribute by thirty visual artists, both national and international, to two iconic figures in the history of art such as Meret Oppenheim (1013-1985) and Marie Cermínová, known as Toyen (1902-1980).

An exhibition organized by the Gresol Art Association that will be open until July 27 with the support of the Girona Provincial Council, the Generalitat de Catalunya and the Madremanya City Council. The works on display have as their common thread and backbone the existence of freedom and individual thought as a creative action that Oppenheim and Toyen had.

It is the first exhibition at the Aurora space in Madremanya where drawing is presented as a spy of resistance, revelation and creative freedom with a second exhibition already prepared in the near future at the space in the Gironès region.

One of the main elements of this exhibition is the title Fer i Unfer. Alguna cosa t'està mirant , taken from the text Oppenheim Automatisme a la cruïlla, published in the surrealist magazine Medium in 1955. Within the tour, the drawing contributes to the exhibition rhythm, expression, form, proportion, volume and stroke, characteristic elements of drawing where the work breathes with its own energy.
