The MACBA collection expands its collection with the incorporation of 285 new works of art with outstanding pieces by international artists. The works are purchases and donations to the MACBA Consortium and deposits from consortium institutions such as the Generalitat de Catalunya and the MACBA Foundation.

At present, the MACBA collection has more than 6,000 works, 150,000 archival documents and 14,000 artist publications and special editions. The MACBA Collection has just incorporated 162 works from the National Collection of the Generalitat de Catalunya, through the lines of Contemporary Art, Photography, Post-War and Second Avant-Gardes, Comics and Illustration and Movable Property.

Some of the most outstanding works are Ángulo, Cilindro abiert y Cilindro hueco from 2021 by Alberto Peral or La biblioteca by Stella Rahola from 2023. Two pieces that will be installed at the presentation of the MACBA Collection in 2027, coinciding with the inauguration of the museum's new building.

An addition with names like Esther Ferrer, Carlos Motta or Claudia Andujar that is related to the research carried out by the director, Elvira Dyangani Ose and the curatorial team. These are works by artists with consolidated national and international careers and that are assigned to the museum's four main current lines of research based on the recovery of figures from the local context; decolonial, postcolonial and anticolonial policies; performance and action and, finally, new ecologies and multispecies theories.

Among the recent direct acquisitions to the MACBA Consortium, it is worth highlighting the donations to the museum of three significant collections: a set of 43 works by the artist Benet Rossell, through the donation of Cristina Giorgi, the artist's widow and manager of his legacy; 13 works by the Catalan artist Ramon Guillen-Balmes, through the Galeria Estrany-de La Mota and 12 works by the artists Martí Anson, Susy Gómez and Tere Recarens from the Galeria Antoni Tàpies.
