Itziar Okariz exhibits at the Museu d'Art Moderne de Tarragona and does so with Les éstatues . The prominent Basque artist presents a video with two transcriptions and an action in an exhibition that is part of the Dret a Rèplica cycle that began with Cristina Garriga and will continue in 2026 with Nñuria Güell.
Okariz works with language, the body, sexuality and semiotics, but at the museum headquarters in Tarragona questions are asked about the why and how of the legacy that has accumulated in the museum. An interpellation of the legacy, of the institution, of voices where the artist speaks to a head sculpted by Oteiza at the Bilbao Fine Arts Museum.

A conversation between Okariz and the sculpture, leading to two full transcriptions in English and Spanish, of two videos from the same series and analogous situations where Okariz dialogues, speaks, creates a link with other statues. The San Sebastian native has created an exercise to question everything that surrounds us, both inside the museum and outside, starting from the body and working with language.
The action on the day of the inauguration was a reading aloud in front of the audience of the transcriptions of dreams that Okariz has had over the last few months. From July 5 to September 29, the viewer will encounter works where he settles with what is with what is, perhaps untranslatable. The audience of the exhibition at the Museu d'Art Modern de Tarragona becomes witnesses of fragments of infinite conversations. Conversations that transport us to dreams and continue in an indeterminate and infinite way.
