The Vilanova i la Geltrú music festival celebrates its eleventh anniversary and is committed to the concept of #VidaREBORN, focused on creative rebirth and taking the idea of zero as a starting point. This new beginning has an approach based on quality music and innovation. Having surpassed the milestone of ten years that have meant a funding and consolidation of the festival model committed to the environment, sustainability, the nature of the spaces at the Masia d'en Cabanyes, Vida renaix is reborn. And it does so hand in hand with families in the broadest sense of the term.
This year, this successful eleventh edition starts from scratch, but not an absolute zero, since there is a long-standing background. The combination of very famous bands with practically unknown names is the trademark of the VIDA house, a collage that has given them a name and reputation among the musicians who choose this festival and not another. Zero appears as a portal that can be crossed towards new musical and aesthetic dimensions. Since its inception, Vida has taken great care of the environment with plastic and lighting interventions that give added value in addition to modifying the space and calling for active participation. Beyond the pure and hard merchandising typical of any mass event. In this sense, Vida Fest has already been a pioneer in caring for small gestures that stir consciences, making us think on a global and planetary level from our small sphere.
Sitges d'esquare receives a veritable avalanche of overnight stays and occupations during the three days that Masia d'en Cabanyes becomes a Woodstock and a Canet Rock at the same time. Because this is the grace of Vida to be able to find the small and the big, the right and balanced mix of zero kilometer with the taste of the old rockers, Punkorros, Jazzis and Poperos.
The line-up is full of new things and surprises to discover and enjoy on a tight budget, if not always take a stroll through the Masia d'en Frederic industrial estate and listen from afar (or not so far) to the musicians of the moment and those who have long since ascended to the Olympus of the Rocker gods. But on Saturday at noon you can't miss the meeting at Tintorera, inside La Daurada, one of the best kept secrets of this Vida FEST. Another of the most coveted spaces is El Bosc, not least El Niu, La Cabanya and the extreme Cova, all of them sponsored by brands that get involved and get involved up to their necks. But, despite this horizontal and democratic panorama, Vida FEST also offers the experience of a Wild Side, a section within the festival grounds, a private area with exclusive access for the most important people (VIP'S) or those who are more powerful economically.
The Vida FEST aims high without stopping touching the ground, it raises dust and soaks in the Tintorera platform, it reaches the eleventh edition without losing its remote origins and the ancestors of the Faraday (2004-2013) perhaps that is why this ten-year barrier, added to the ten of the Vida, makes them rethink everything and look for a rechristening by setting the counter to zero again.
