Bonart presents the new Spanish edition to the MAPFRE Foundation

The MAPFRE Foundation Auditorium in Madrid hosted the presentation of issue 0 of Bonart, the pilot publication of the magazine's new Spanish-language edition. This issue marks a new chapter for Bonart, which, after twenty-five years of experience, takes a step forward to reach new audiences. This new phase was born with the desire to capture and amplify the multiple creative expressions emerging throughout Spain—from Zaragoza to Seville, from Madrid to Barcelona, via Bilbao, Valencia, Palma, and Santiago de Compostela—as well as to strengthen ties with artistic scenes in Andorra, Portugal, and, especially, Latin America.

The presentation event, yesterday, June 10, began with a guided tour of Fundación MAPFRE's current exhibitions, which include José Guerrero. A Proposal of Landscape , Felipe Romero. Bravo and Nicholas Nixon. The Brown Sisters (1975-2022) . Afterwards, Iñaki González, representing Fundación MAPFRE, and Ricard Planas, CEO of the Bonart group, welcomed the attendees and highlighted the importance of this new editorial phase. In his speech, Iñaki González highlighted bonart's "way of conceiving cultural and artistic communication," emphasizing that "each issue is an exercise in visual experimentation." This desire for experimentation was evident in the projection carried out during the event, a video art piece created by the artist Roc Parera, which compiled the 200 bonart covers published to date in a visual proposal that synthesizes the evolution of the magazine and its commitment to contemporary visual culture.

This was followed by a roundtable discussion entitled "Art and Communication ," featuring figures from the artistic world, such as Luisa Espino, head of the Matadero Center for Artist Residencies, and artists Eugenio Ampudia, Rosalía Banet, and César Martínez, who spoke from Mexico. The discussion provided a platform for sharing different perspectives on the challenges and opportunities facing the dialogue between artistic creation and the media today.

With this issue number 0, bonart begins a new editorial phase with its sights set on becoming a connecting tool between creators, institutions, and diverse audiences, fostering a plural and decentralized perspective on contemporary art.
