The Vila Casas Foundation launches A New Door to Art, a cultural initiative designed to bring contemporary art closer to citizens in a more inclusive, innovative and participatory way. Through a series of monthly activities, the project seeks to broaden audiences and foster new ways of connecting with art from different disciplines such as music, cinema, well-being or technology.
This proposal arises from the deep belief that art is a common good and a transformative tool with the capacity to make us reflect on society, connect us with the reality that surrounds us and enrich our daily experience.
The first event will take place next Friday, May 30 at the Can Framis Museum , from 5 p.m. to 11 p.m. During this opening day, visitors will be able to enjoy a taste of the themes that will be developed throughout the cycle. The space will host everything from a yoga and meditation session by Mysteria to the screening of the documentary BCN Rise & Fall, dedicated to Barcelona's urban art, in collaboration with Mecal.
There will also be space for the performance with Sòl Pell Paret, by artists Anxe Faraldo and Haize Lizarazu. You can also participate in a creative yoga activity with Sansyoga and a technological workshop with Playmodes, where they will discover how the sonograph works, an interactive audiovisual instrument. The evening will end with a live podcast by Gent de Merda and musical performances by Alosa and Gregotechno.
A new gateway to art will be held one Friday a month between May and November in various spaces of the Can Framis Museum. These spaces will host a wide variety of proposals that will allow participants to delve into the world of contemporary painting from the Vila Casas Foundation collection, explore temporary exhibitions and discover a remarkable example of rehabilitated industrial heritage. The Can Framis Museum, a former 18th-century textile factory transformed into an art center by Antoni Vila Casas in 2007, will thus become a creative meeting point between art and society.
