Throughout his career, Jaume Ribas (Granollers, 1944) has delved into the study of geometry and space. In his abstract language, chromatic combinations and the use of geometric figures with a distribution of space predominate as a way of relating his inner world to his surroundings and interacting with the viewer, who provides his own final interpretation of the works. His desire for intellectual rigor is evident, as Ribas' theological and philosophical training permeates his creations, inviting us to reflect and introspect on our inner reality.

The pictorial work stands out for its chromatic sensitivity and refined mastery of the various techniques. The main elements are color and strokes with different shapes, lines and figures. The lines create basic geometric shapes to establish a perfectly studied whole with the background, generating perfectly balanced chromatic harmonies and contrasts that delimit spaces that the artist wants to capture and deepen in his study. The chromatic lines draw a very personal calligraphy, delimiting and defining the spaces in different areas of painting, creating a game of shapes, chromatics and textures in continuous evolution.
From tomorrow until June 20, the Atelier Gallery is showing around twenty works that highlight Ribas' architectural sense of color. Each work thus becomes a testament to the artist's commitment to experimentation and his desire to provoke deep reflection on how we interact with our surroundings and, at the same time, how we interact with our most intimate world.
