Bonart / Malart International No. 2: an expanded view coinciding with ARCOmadrid 2026
bonart madrid - 08/03/26

Bonart / Malart International magazine reaches its second issue , solidifying its position as a written space for reflection and analysis on contemporary art with a clear global focus. This new edition coincides with ARCOmadrid 2026, one of the major international art events, reinforcing the magazine's commitment to exploring new geographies, contexts, and perspectives.

This issue presents two major editorial approaches that offer a panoramic view of the international art scene, with a particular focus on Latin America, Spain, and Portugal. Through reports, interviews, and analyses, the publication captures moments, projects, and dynamics that define the present of contemporary art in these regions, establishing connections between different cultural contexts.

Among the featured content are monographs dedicated to major contemporary art events, such as the upcoming Venice Biennale and the Malta Biennale , which offer a glimpse into some of the conceptual and artistic trends that will shape international debate in the coming years. These dossiers are complemented by opinion pieces, reports, and the Glops Biennial section, which provide critical analyses and diverse perspectives on current art trends.

Two covers, two perspectives

The new issue also stands out for its two covers, bonart and malart, which function as a declaration of intent for the magazine: a combination of conceptual and quite visual reflection.

The cover of Malart features an image of the view from the exhibition A Shot in the Eye. The Century Blind's Spot by Andreas M. Kaufmann, produced by Malpaís in Barcelona in 2023. This proposal points to a critical reading of the blind spots of our time, evoking the need to revise the visual and cultural narratives of the 21st century.

The cover of Bonart, on the other hand, features the work Mano Conectada by the artist Eulàlia Valldosera, a piece that symbolizes the relationship between body, technology and perception.
