Homes on the move, living beyond physical space
The Miró Foundation of Barcelona gives a voice to homeless people through participatory photography and audiovisual creation.
Room 22 of the Miró Foundation in Barcelona is hosting Homes on the Move until September 6, an exhibition that focuses on the experiences of homeless people and proposes a reflection on what it really means to have a home. The project is based on the desire to give visibility to realities that are often invisible and questions the idea of the home as an exclusively physical space.
The proposal understands housing as an emotional and symbolic construction also linked to identity, memories, relationships and future expectations. Through participatory photography, the people who have been part of the project have been able to explore their experiences from different temporal perspectives - the past, the present and the future - and become protagonists of the story about their own experiences.
The exhibition presents a selection of photographs created during this process, together with an audiovisual that documents the sessions and allows us to get closer to the journey shared by the participants. Rather than showing a reality from the outside, Llars en movimento proposes a space of representation and listening in which the participants themselves construct and express their perspective.
The initiative, with an artistic proposal by CLICme_Inclusió and Eugènia Ortiz Antoranz, thus places artistic practice at the service of participation and empowerment. Photography becomes a tool to recover narratives, reclaim identities and imagine other possibilities for the future.
Hogares en movimiento can be visited in Room 22 of the Miró Foundation in Barcelona until September 6, 2026.
