The BCN Sports Film Festival opens the calls for its 17th edition
The event is looking for new audiovisual talents with the SpotSport competition, which will award 1,000 euros to the official promotional video of the festival.
The BCN Sports Film Festival has already opened the calls for entries for its 17th edition, which will be held in Barcelona in February 2027. The competition invites filmmakers, athletes and creators of audiovisual stories to be part of a new edition that will once again put sport and cinema in dialogue.
One of the main novelties of the call is the SpotSport competition, an opportunity for creators to shape the image of the festival. The winner will be responsible for creating the official promotional spot for the BCN Sports Film Festival 2027, a piece of only 20 seconds that must convey the spirit and values of the event.
The competition is endowed with a cash prize of 1,000 euros and an invitation to the festival's opening ceremony, where the selected video will have a starring role.
The call is open to any audiovisual genre —animation, documentary, fiction or other formats— as long as the proposal is linked to the world of sports. The works submitted can be both short and feature films and must have been produced after January 1, 2024.
The deadline for submitting applications ends on September 30, 2026. A specialized jury will be responsible for assessing the proposals received and, in the event that a production is selected, the organization will contact those responsible before October 30, 2026 to request the necessary documentation.
