Santi Moix will finally inaugurate the exhibition In silent shadows and between dreams at the Terracotta Museum on July 12th.
The exhibition, postponed due to the fire in Les Gavarres, vindicates ceramics as a contemporary sculptural language from the pottery heart of La Bisbal d'Empordà.
The exhibition En ombres silents i entre somnis , by the artist Santi Moix, which was to be inaugurated this Sunday, July 5, at the Terracotta Ceramics Museum in La Bisbal d'Empordà, has finally been postponed until next Sunday, July 12 due to the major forest fire affecting the area of Les Gavarres.
The decision responds to the exceptional situation experienced by the municipality and has been communicated by the City Council of La Bisbal d'Empordà in the following terms:
"Given the exceptional situation caused by the forest fire in Les Gavarres, which is affecting our municipality, the City Council of La Bisbal d'Empordà has made the decision to suspend all events scheduled for this weekend. Therefore, the inauguration of the exhibition En ombres silents i entre somnis , by Santi Moix, scheduled for tomorrow, July 5, is postponed."
The new opening date will therefore be Sunday, July 12 at 12 noon, at the Terracotta Museum itself, in an event that is expected to be especially relevant within the exhibition program for the second half of the year.

In silent shadows and between dreams is one of the most outstanding proposals of this season at the Terracotta Museum, not only for the artistic dimension of the project, but also for the way it dialogues with the ceramist identity of La Bisbal d'Empordà. The exhibition highlights a line of work that, in recent decades, has profoundly transformed the perception of ceramics: from a field traditionally associated with trade and craftsmanship, to a space of formal, poetic and sculptural research that is fully contemporary.
In this process, Bisbal d'Empordà occupies a central place. Historically linked to ceramic production, the city has managed to preserve a living tradition through its workshops and ceramists, who have maintained and renewed the knowledge of matter, fire and forms. It is in this context that Santi Moix's proposal acquires a special strength: his work is inserted into a specific material genealogy, but at the same time expands it towards territories of great imaginative freedom.
The universe of Santi Moix: nature, memory and transformation
Recognized for an exuberant, organic and deeply symbolic visual language, Santi Moix has built over the years a body of work in which painting, sculpture and ceramics coexist with an almost vegetal naturalness. His forms seem to be born from a world in constant metamorphosis: flowers, bodies, natural fragments and dreamlike visions intertwine in compositions that oscillate between delicacy and material intensity.
In En ombres silents i entre somnis , this imaginary finds a particularly fertile medium in ceramics. Clay, texture and volume become vehicles for a poetics that appeals to both fragility and persistence, to both the intimate gesture and the primal force of matter. Moix's work does not seek to be merely contemplated: it invites one to enter a space of resonances, sensory memory and free associations, where the shadows and dreams of the title become a tangible plastic experience.
His artistic practice also connects with an expanded idea of contemporary sculpture, in which ceramics ceases to be a support or subsidiary technique to assume a central role as an autonomous language. In this sense, the show is not only a solo exhibition, but also a reflection on the current possibilities of working with earth and fire.
A postponed inauguration, but more anticipated than ever
The postponement of the opening comes at a time of concern and alertness due to the fire affecting the territory, and places culture within an inevitable framework of responsibility and shared context with the community. Despite this change in calendar, the date of July 12th maintains intact the interest of an exhibition that promises to be one of the most significant cultural events of the summer in the Empordà.
