Anna Comas Vives will be the new director of the Manresa Museum-Baroque Museum of Catalonia after the selection process opened following the retirement of Francesc Vilà Noguera. The appointment, scheduled before June 1, will mark a milestone in the history of the institution, as Comas will become the first woman to assume its management. The announcement of the appointment has been made public by Manresana d'Actius Turístics, Museus i Firas and the Manresa City Council.
Born in Manresa in 1986, Comas has a degree in Art History and has developed her professional career in the field of museography, collection management and the conservation of artistic collections. Over the years she has worked in institutions such as the National Museum of Science and Technology of Catalonia and the Manresa Museum-Baroque Museum of Catalonia itself.
The new director now faces the challenge of consolidating a vision for the future for the museum, ensuring the coherence and quality of the activities and projects that are developed there, as well as the overall good functioning of the facility.
In addition to her experience in heritage management, Comas has a solid background in teaching and outreach. She has been a professor at the Department of Education of the Generalitat de Catalunya and also at UManresa. At the same time, she is the author of several publications related to heritage and art history.
In 2023 she was recognized with the Pare Ignasi Puig i Simon Award, a recognition that reinforces her career in research and cultural dissemination.
