A Lot of Unanswered Questions is the title given to the tribute that Alex Reynolds and Robert M. Ochshorn dedicate to the journalists present during the press conferences organized by the United States Department of State between October 3, 2023 and January 16, 2025, regarding the current genocide in Palestine.

Throughout these meetings, the various political representatives faced the explanations requested in an evasive manner, often in a self-defense manner, consequently generating frustration among the media.

In the final editing of this twenty-three-hour film, the representatives' responses are eliminated in order to highlight the clash between the staging —somewhat performative— of political power, always static in its irreverence, versus an active, skilled and conscious audience.

Thank you, thank you, Matt. Do you have any figures on the number of Palestinians killed in Gaza so far? Do you agree with Israel's call to the United Nations to evacuate 1.1 million Palestinians to the south? What do you think Israel's ultimate goal is? So we're talking about regime change, for lack of a better term, right?

If it is true that the viewer's attention, today more than ever, is monetized, then it is intelligent to divert it from quick, somewhat illusory answers and move them to the realm of reflection. For it is, in fact, the questions; the act of asking oneself and asking, that most vividly illustrate the context and are directly inscribed in the collective memory.

And the fact is that A Lot of Unanswered Questions seeks, from the outset, a collective expectation; an expectation that seeks to contrast with the experience of consuming, rather solitary, information. Not because the questions burden the solutions, nor any exact truth, but because —as Said Arikat, Washington bureau chief of Al-Quds News and present in the film, defends— it is not only power that defines our time, but also the refusal to stop asking.
