The Picasso Museum is hosting a conference this Tuesday, March 10 at 6:30 p.m. by Dr. Raquel Medina, a specialist in the work of Modest Cuixart and the artistic context of his generation, entitled Paris, Lyon, New York and the Human Imperative .

The session proposes a journey through the artist's creative evolution, from his beginnings within the Dau al Set group to the years of material experimentation lived in Paris and Lyon. In this vital and artistic journey, the encounter —almost fortuitous— with the thought of Bertolt Brecht represented a decisive turning point: Cuixart reconsidered his conception of art, moving away from informalism to orient his work towards new expressive forms centered on the human condition.

Considered one of the pioneers of the new figurations of the second half of the 20th century, Cuixart achieved international recognition with works present in several museums around the world. This biographical conference will allow us to delve deeper into the key moments of an artistic career marked by constant research and commitment to the expression of the human being.
