Can Mario in Palafrugell of the Vila Casas Foundation opens its doors to its new temporary exhibition entitled Landscapes of the Soul , work by the artist Antoni Forcada, which can be visited until July 19. This exhibition offers an immersion in the creative world of Forcada, who works with found and everyday materials to give shape to his pieces. The artist transforms elements such as wood, cables or other objects that he finds in his environment into ephemeral creations loaded with meaning, exploring the connection between matter and emotional expression. Each work acts as a bridge between the tangible object and inner sensitivity, inviting the public to reflect on the relationship between the soul and the elements that surround it.

Antoni Forcada's ephemeral works absorb and reinterpret the world around him, capturing moments through colors, textures and shapes. Each piece transmits sensations and emotions, giving the territory a central role in his creation. The landscape does not appear as a simple visual setting, but as a source of vital and emotional inspiration, becoming the backbone of his work. In Can Mario, Forcada builds, observes and dismantles the pieces, emphasizing the creative process above the permanence of the work, as well as the intimate dialogue that is created between his hands, the materials and the landscape that inspires him. His work becomes a true emotional diary, where nature and soul intertwine, reminding us that art is a genuine expression of feeling and a celebration of the fragility inherent in the creative process.
According to Bernat Puigdollers, artistic director of the Vila Casas Foundation, “Antoni Forcada's work arises from the confluence of pictorial and sculptural practice and architectural thought, always in relation to the landscape. His career is a clear example of resistance and artistic vocation. After his first presentation at Espai 10 of the Miró Foundation, Forcada has continued to work tirelessly outside the official arts circuits, creating and dismantling ephemeral installations. He can both establish a direct dialogue with the landscape and the territory in the middle of the Penedès fields, and establish complicity with the popular architecture of the farmhouses.”

With this exhibition, Forcada opens the new room of Can Mario, occupying it completely according to his will. His practice has not only allowed us to discover in depth the space that we are opening today, but has also brought into the museum the essential spirit of the popular world and the territory, reinterpreted through a contemporary perspective.
“His work becomes an emotional diary, where landscape and soul intertwine and reflect the fragility and beauty of the creative process. The encounter with Forcada is a testament to passion and creative freedom that reminds us that art is a reflection of the soul.” Xevi Bayona
