Berga artist Ramon Calonge Casafont, born in 1929, presents a selection of around twenty oil paintings that offer a broad and varied view of the Patum festival. His works masterfully capture the light, colour and movement that characterise this emblematic celebration of the city. The exhibition, entitled Olis de Patum , will be inaugurated at the Berga Regional Museum to pay tribute to Calonge Casafont's artistic career, and will remain open until 22 February, offering visitors the opportunity to immerse themselves in the visual and festive essence of Patum through the work of one of the region's most veteran and renowned artists.

Ramon Calonge Casafont (Berga, 1929) is a self-taught artist who has developed a diverse and prolific career, marked by the practice of multiple pictorial disciplines and with a special predilection for landscape painting. Influenced by the Olot School and Joaquín Sorolla, Calonge presented his first exhibition in 1957 at the Sala d'Art Codina in Berga, thus beginning a career that has consolidated him as a key figure in Berguedà art. "Being self-taught allows you to create your own style and makes you look like no one else," reflects the artist, highlighting his independent and personal view of painting.

Among the works that make up the exhibition, you can admire emblematic moments of the Patum world, such as the Patum de Lluïment, the Patum Completa, the street parade, the Quatre Fuets, the climb of the Gegants Nous in Queralt, the attractions of the Vall or even the old Corpus procession. Each painting captures with great sensitivity the light, color and dynamism of the festival, offering a personal and at the same time choral look at the Berguedan tradition.

"With this recognition we do an act of justice, because it is often difficult for towns and cities to recognize their people and their artists, especially while they are alive. That is why there is nothing more beautiful than tributes like this," emphasized the mayor of Berga and president of the Casal d'Europa del Berguedà, Ivan Sànchez. Along the same lines, Sànchez stressed that "we are facing one of the best painters in the history of our city", highlighting the artist's career and importance for local cultural life.
