Alzueta Gallery presents Notas al pie ( Footnotes ), a collective exhibition that brings together the works of seventeen artists who share a common denominator: paper. This material, apparently fragile, but surprisingly versatile, becomes a creative territory where multiple materialities, techniques and languages converge. Far from being limited to a simple support, paper acts here as a space for experimentation, as a living surface that registers diverse gestures, textures and forms.

The exhibition is configured as a parallel journey to the gallery's regular program, presenting pieces from different projects and periods. Despite this heterogeneity, the works establish a subtle dialogue, revealing unexpected connections and a narrative thread that runs through the entire exhibition.

In this itinerary deployed in the Turó space —which can be visited until December 9— the public will be able to discover works by Hugo Alonso, Manolo Ballesteros, Sune Christiansen, Klas Ernflo, Sabine Finkenauer, Gabrielle Graessle, Antonio González, Hiroki Kawanabe, David Macho, Guillem Nadal, Francisco Mendes Moreira, Alejo Palacios, James Rielly, Maru Quiñonero, Xevi Solà, Claudia Valsells and Luis Vidal. The diversity of origins and artistic interests of these creators contributes to building a rich and dynamic visual mosaic.

Paper, with its intrinsic vulnerability and its capacity to capture the immediacy of gesture, functions in this exhibition as a common space that welcomes infinite possibilities. Pastel, acrylic, oil, watercolor, pencil, ink and mixed media coexist in a plural set where abstraction and figuration dialogue without hierarchies. Each artist approaches paper from their own and unique perspective: there are those who explore its sculptural dimensions, transforming it into volume; those who focus on texture or relief; and those who delve into the richness of traditional pictorial techniques.

Thus, Notas al pie stands as a celebration of paper in all its forms, a tribute to its capacity to transform itself and become a territory of expression for very diverse languages. The exhibition invites us to look closely at what is often considered secondary or fragile, reclaiming paper as the undisputed protagonist of a collective exercise of sensitivity and artistic exploration.

In parallel with the Notas al pie exhibition, the Alzueta art gallery is developing its activity in other venues and exhibition spaces. In Paris, it is presenting the work of Mirco Marchelli with the proposal Comme un rigaudon ; while at the Seneca space in Barcelona, Miho Ichise is taking the stage with the T-10 Project . This programme is also joined by the exhibition De óxido y hueso by Antonia Ferrer, which delves into the poetics of matter and the passage of time.

Over the coming months, the gallery's agenda will continue to incorporate prominent names such as Antonio González, Joan Miró, Lucía Vergara or Emeca, who will contribute to closing 2025 with a diverse and vibrant artistic program.
