A new edition of By Invitation, the modern and contemporary art show of the Círculo Ecuestre de Barcelona, one of the most anticipated events of this end of the year in the art scene, is here. From 6 to 9 November, the event will feature an ambitious programme, designed for collectors and professionals in the sector, both national and international. With the support of prominent sponsors and patrons, and after having gathered more than 9,000 visitors in its last edition, By Invitation has consolidated itself as an essential and unique event in the artistic calendar of the State.
In its sixth edition, By Invitation presents 23 artistic proposals with the participation of national and, for the first time, international galleries, gathered around the concept of Lines of Time. The thematic axis of this edition proposes a reflection on time as a fabric that unites generations, geographies and imaginaries. The focus falls on intergenerational dialogue, linking historical galleries with emerging spaces, and modern and post-war artists with new contemporary voices.
This new edition features the Palauet section where, with thirteen projects, critical dialogues between generations are promoted—bringing together emerging, consolidated and historical artists—and it hosts practices that range from the experimental to the conceptual, including sculptural-installational, documentary and pictorial proposals, always with a clearly institutional, critical and curatorial focus. Thus, there are projects by Zielinsky with Pedro Torres, BETA Contemporary with Miriam Dema and Rita Sala, BKV Fine Art with Mario Schifano and Bruno Marrapodi, Guillermo de OSma with work by Dis Berlin, Benjamín Palencia, Eduardo Chillida, Martin Chirino, Óscar Domínguez, La Gran with Elisa Terroba and Enrique Marty, Marc Domènech with Joaquim Chancho, Ana Peters and Mariona Berenguer, Palmadotzer de Barcelona with pieces by Joan Hernández Pjiuan and Violeta Mayorla, Piramidón with Yamandú Canosa and the special resident project, Reiners Contemporary Art with Owanto, Raquel Algaba, Roció Navarro, RocíoSantaCruz with Teresa Gancedo, Lua Ribeira, Seltz with Monica Jover Calvo and Ivan Forcadell, Senda and pieces by Marcel Rubio and Jaume Plensa and Taché with Guillermo Pfaff and Miguel Ángel Campano.
There is also Vertig with pictorial and sculptural proposals and Espola with four projects where projects focused on modern and post-war art are anticipated. In Vertig we find proposals by Escat, Inédit, Ola, Shazar, Victor Lope and Wit Art, seeing as Espola will exhibit works by Carlos Teixido, David Cervello, Dolors Junyent and Silvia Sennacheribbo.
