The Valencian Institute of Modern Art (IVAM) recently held a meeting of its Governing Council to approve the new composition of its governing body. This reconfiguration includes the appointment of Ferrán Barenblit, Rosina Gómez Baeza, Antonio Sánchez Luengo, Ángeles Albert, and Juan Carlos Arnuncio Pastor as designated members. They are all renowned professionals with established careers in both the artistic field and cultural and museum management.

With these additions, the IVAM seeks to strengthen its presence in international cultural and artistic circles, promoting greater visibility and consolidating its capacity to establish links with global art institutions and stakeholders. Furthermore, this renewal aims to balance different perspectives in the museum's governance, combining technical expertise with artistic and strategic sensitivity.

The new composition leaves the IVAM's Governing Council composed of eleven members, seven of whom are women and four men, reflecting a commitment to gender diversity and plural representation in the museum's decision-making bodies. This measure is part of a modernization and internationalization policy that seeks to position the IVAM as a benchmark in the promotion of contemporary art and the revitalization of cultural life, both nationally and internationally.

Ferrán Barenblit, Rosina Gómez Baeza, and Antonio Sánchez Luengo have joined the IVAM's Governing Council as new members, appointed by the museum's President, currently held by the Regional Minister of Education, Culture, Universities, and Employment, José Antonio Rovira. As planned, two more individuals with experience in museums and cultural management will be added in the future, thus completing the maximum of five members permitted by current IVAM legislation.

The amendment to the IVAM Law introduces changes to the museum's governing body, establishing new rules for the composition of the appointed members. They will serve for a four-year term, with the possibility of an additional four-year term.
