With this new exhibition entitled Fresh for Summer II , 3 Punts Galeria de Barcelona creates a journey through the diverse artistic practices of Lara Padilla, Alejandro Monge, Juan Luis Jardí and David Moreno, four creators who, despite their different approaches, share an aligned conceptual vision and a common intention. Their works clearly and forcefully demonstrate how contemporary figurative art has undergone a profound transformation, overcoming its traditional function of faithful and mimetic representation to become a tool with great conceptual and emotional charge.
The common thread that unites these artists is the strategic and innovative use of the figure, which can take various forms—from the human figure and faces to architectural structures—, turning it into a powerful vehicle for reflection and communication of experiences and feelings. Through resources such as formal manipulation, abstraction, recontextualization, and symbolic charge, each of them delves into fundamental themes such as identity, emotional complexity, existential questions, and the interconnection between individuals.
