The Miramar-Centre Cultural de Sitges will host the inauguration of a new edition of Sitges ReciclArt on August 2nd, the megalithic festival of recycling and responsible art promoted by the Drap-Art association, in addition to the exhibition Artists for Peace - 18 visions . A new edition that will be open to the public until September 21st.
The Sitges ReciclArt biennial returns this summer with a new exhibition that invites us to reflect on the environment through artistic creativity. More than 30 artists will exhibit more than 60 works made entirely with reused materials, transforming recycling into a form of expression and commitment.

In addition to the exhibitions, the festival will include a wide range of parallel activities designed for all audiences: sustainable creation workshops, thematic talks, guided tours and other proposals that invite you to actively participate in the conversation about sustainability and art. The opening ceremony will be held on Saturday, August 2 at 7:30 pm in the courtyard of the Miramar-Centre Cultural, with a special performance by the Sitges dancer Sílvia Cuesta. The festival is promoted by the Sitges City Council and Drap-Art, with the support of the Barcelona Provincial Council and the Centre d'Estudis del Mar.

ReciclArt was born in 2016 and since 2023 has adopted the biennial format, integrating exhibitions, workshops, conferences, sustainable art markets and performances. The main objectives of the festival are to create from works that make marine pollution, climate change and the challenges of irresponsible consumption visible, in addition to giving a second life to waste by transforming it into art with a deep bite.
Creativity, environmental education and citizen reflection where the aim is to give visibility to artists who address issues such as ecology and climate change through their creative practice, while promoting critical reflection on the role of art as a driver of social transformation. The aim is to foster a new collective awareness towards a more sustainable future, not only from an environmental point of view, but also in the social and economic sphere.

The first floor of the Miramar-Centre Cultural hosts the collective exhibition Artists for Peace – 18 visions . The show brings together 44 works created by 18 artists who, from their commitment to human rights, equity, tolerance and denunciation of violence and war conflicts, provide a critical and hopeful perspective.
Promoted by the Arapau collective —made up of visual and plastic artists who reflect on the value of peace, dignity and respect— the exhibition unfolds a diverse and suggestive journey: 31 paintings, 11 photographs, a sculpture and an installation composed of two pieces. The works, in dialogue with each other, appeal to the collective conscience and challenge us to imagine a more just, humane and peaceful future.
