Saturday Night is the new exhibition at the Hilario Galguera Gallery in Condesa featuring the work of Mexican artist César Urrutia. Formal experimentation, but also a visual meditation on the processes of transformation, Urrutia transforms the work, his canvas, into a space where change is not only inevitable but also sought after and desirable.
At the Hilario Galguera Gallery, also located in Madrid, specifically at Dr. Fourquet 12, there is a mix of mediums including oils, acrylics, and fluorescent aerosols that emanate an almost electric energy. These works shape Saturday Night , which can be seen until August 16 at Condesa.
The Mexican artist pushes the boundaries of traditional landscapes to reach a territory where nature and imagination intertwine in impossible scenarios, where the improbable becomes a visual language charged with power and contradiction. A play of contrasts, of differentiated interpretations, of tandems created from the icy to the warm, from the somber to the luminous, but always reflecting on change, adaptation, or the paradox of inhabiting a world where everything is intertwined.
In each of César Urrutia's works, a play of gazes is created, a dialogue with apparitions and revelations where fluorescent inks introduce a hidden code, always inviting the discovery of new meanings. The connection with the Mexican landscape arises not from nostalgia, but from a living connection, in constant motion. This vital chromatic interplay of Saturday Night is a radical gesture of permanence and presence.
