A total of 146 floral projects spread over 114 spaces can be visited in the 70th exhibition of Flowers, Patios and Gardens, Temps de Flors Girona 2025. As a novelty for this edition, the opening hours are extended until 11:00 p.m. and the citizens of Girona are invited to spend the evening at the exhibition and enjoy the Flowers by Night, on Saturdays until midnight. A lighting project on the Passeig Arqueològic also allows you to enjoy the gardens surrounding the Cathedral at night. Jazz and blues concerts have also been scheduled in emblematic spaces such as the gardens of Josep Tarrés i Fontan (in Torre Gironella), the Plaça dels Jurats, the exterior of the La Mercè Cultural Centre and the Plaça de Sant Domènec. The program is complemented by the Girona A Cappella Festival and performances by different choirs that will fill the event with music.
The Festival is organized with the active and enthusiastic participation of Girona society, such as the Friends of Old Girona Association and the Friends of Flowers Association of Girona, and with the support of Girona City Council. The organization and the Friends of Flowers Association wanted to pay tribute to the late Rosa Maria Labayen, an essential figure in the history of the Floral Festival and one of the souls of this festival. According to the organizers, “since the nineties, when she began to get actively involved, Labayen was an inexhaustible source of inspiration for artists, florists, schools and creators of all kinds, turning her emblematic Lleó Avinay house into one of the most emblematic settings of the exhibition”.
For her part, the secretary of the Association of Friends of Flowers and Gardens of Girona, Montserrat Galí, explained that as a novelty "this year we are celebrating our 70th anniversary by giving away a bag of clothes and a fruit (Girona apple) to all the volunteers who participate in this edition of the Girona Festival, Temps de Flors 2025 and who have been able to pick it up at the offices of the Mercat del Lleó in Girona at the time we have given them their corresponding accreditation".

The Mayor of Girona, Lluc Salellas, highlights that this edition "for the first time we have incorporated the Calm Space into the lobby of the Municipal Theatre, designed for neurodivergent people, especially children, who will also be able to visit the exhibition with adapted conditions". While the Deputy Mayor and Councillor for Economic Promotion and Legal Services, Gemma Geis, invites visitors to "evening out" with more open spaces at night and live music, so that everyone can enjoy Girona in a different way. And we recover elements such as water in some projects, taking advantage of the increase in water reserves, always thinking about sustainability.
Eloi Fontalba, author of the poster
As for the poster for this 70th edition of the Girona Festival, Temps de Flors 2025, this year the author of the work is the second-year artistic high school student at the Santiago Sobrequés Institute, Eloi Fontalba Martínez. According to Fontalba, “I was inspired by the stained glass windows of the Girona Cathedral, capturing their bright colors that at the same time symbolize spring and the happiness that Temps de Flors exudes. It is a source of pride for me to see the poster all over the city” and he adds about his professional future: “I want to work in the illustration sector. Specifically, I would like to illustrate stories and books. I hope that the creation of this poster will open some doors for me”.
It should be remembered that the Girona City Council and the Santiago Sobrequés Institute have been participating in this Girona poster project, Temps de Flors, since 2009. Based on the proposals of the second year students of the artistic baccalaureate of the educational center, a selection of a total of ten designs is made, from which the work that will represent the next edition of the Girona Temps de Flors Festival is selected.
21st Window Dressing and Interior Decoration Exhibition
A total of 39 establishments are participating this year in the 21st Window Dressing and Interior Decoration Exhibition, whose main objective is to involve local commerce in the different activities that take place in the city during the Floral Festival. From these establishments, each year the most recognized establishments are chosen with a 1st prize, 2nd prize, 3rd prize and runner-up prizes.
On the other hand, the organization has proposed an interactive game called “Neighborhood Secrets”, in which residents of Girona can propose to bring color back to their neighborhood, discover new spaces and anecdotes and see the living beings that surround them. To start playing, a plant is given away for the participants' balcony, terrace or garden, which can be found at the Civic Center of each neighborhood of the participants from May 10 to 15. Those who wish can also sign up for the workshops that are being held on balconies for biodiversity, through the information in the Girona City Council agenda. With this plant, the first step can be taken to build a “balcony for biodiversity” and, in addition, dinners, theater tickets and even tickets to go see Girona FC and Bàsquet Girona will be raffled.
