A new edition that presents a selection of projects representative of the diversity and solidity of the sector.

The architectural landscape of Girona is once again the protagonist in a new edition of the Girona Region Architecture Awards , which this 2025 reach their 27th call with 26 projects selected from among the 77 proposals presented. The choice has been made by a jury of experts chaired by María José Aranguren and with the participation of Joan M. Viader and Juana Sánchez , all three architects with a solid track record both in professional practice and in teaching. The selection of projects highlights the variety of perspectives, typologies and approaches that shape contemporary architecture in the Girona regions. The chosen works are structured in four categories: Architecture , Interiors , Landscapes and Ephemeral Spaces , each corresponding to a specific area of intervention.

The Architecture category, which includes new construction, renovations and rehabilitations, has seventeen selected projects: Casa Salaó, in Colera, by Ros + Falguera Arquitectura ; Sports Center, in Ripoll, by MH.AP Studio with Sergi Serrat Guillen ; Casa tres patis, in Albons, by Twobo Arquitectura ; Remunta, in Jafre, by Tallerdarquitectura ; House, shed and tree, in Santa Llogaia del Terri, by Callís Marès Arquitectes ; Casa CP, in Begur, by BAMMP Arquitectes i Associats ; Butterfly, in Gaüses (Vilopriu), by Tallerdarquitectura ; A simple house, in Vall d'en Bas, by Arnau Estudi d'Arquitectura ; Casa 012, in Sant Gregori, by Camps Felip Arquitectura ; Casa CD 22, in Girona, by Incovi ; From closure to opening, in Olot, by Barbacana Taller d'Arquitectura ; Habitable Garden, in Capmany, by Toni Gironès Architecture Studio ; Consolidation of ruins and accessibility to visits, in Vilafant, by Joan Falgueras Font ; Casa Ka, in Olot, by OMESR.arquitectes ; Casa Boratuna, in Sant Martí de Llémena, by Bouman Arquitectura ; Habitatge Cadaqués, by Creative Lab ; and Molí del Senyor, in La Bisbal d'Empordà, by CMV Architects .

In the Interiors category, dedicated to works focused on the treatment of interior space, two proposals have been selected: Ce n'est pas une folie, in Blanes, by Vertical Proxer , and the Ofines d'Atención Ciutadana OAC, in Olot, by Estudio Além .

The Landscapes category, which includes interventions carried out in urban and natural spaces, includes two works: Services, trees, pavement, in Lladó, by Joan Falgueras Font , and the Plaça Major d'Olot, by Un Parell d'Arquitectes, Quim Domene and Pep de Solà-Morales .

Finally, in the Ephemeral Spaces category, which groups works of limited duration such as installations, exhibitions or scenographies, five projects have been selected: Where water does not fall, flowers do not grow, in Girona, by Col·lectiu Barraca ; Safran Mist, also in Girona, by LAR Arquitectura i Rehabilitació ; Reprinting a landscape, in Girona, by El vol, estudi creatiu ; Ignis Fatuus, in Olot, by ESDAPC – Escola Superior de Disseny i d'Arts Plàstiques de Catalunya ; and L'essència de l'ànima, in Olot, by Escola d'Art d'Olot .

The selected projects can be seen until May 4th in the exhibition located in the Pia Almoina room of the COAC headquarters in Girona. The show offers a panoramic view of the 77 works presented, all created during the year 2024, and reflects the vitality and commitment of professionals in the territory to architecture as a tool for transformation.

The winners will be announced on June 13, at a public event in the Rafael Masó room of the COAC headquarters in Girona. In addition to the jury awards, the Opinion Prize will also be announced, chosen by popular vote through the official website .
