The La Catedral Art Gallery presents, starting tomorrow, April 25, the exhibition of the Tarragona artist Carme Pi , composed of a set of 23 works. This selection includes works from various periods and sizes, made in oil, and reflects the surrealist style that has defined her artistic career during 45 years of profession.
Under the title The Dream World of Carme Pi, the exhibition offers a sample of the artist's evolution, with works that recreate her inner world, her personal experiences, childhood memories and emotions linked to her dreams and significant places in her life. This exhibition, which can be visited until May 25, stands out for its sensitivity and vision, in which the artist expresses her most intimate feelings with depth.
Carme Pi was born in Tarragona in 1956. From a young age she began to paint in a self-taught manner and, later, she expanded her knowledge at the Art School of the Diputació de Tarragona, where she studied five years of painting techniques and another year of specialization in bas-relief and gold leaf. She had renowned artists as teachers such as Josep Icart , Tomàs Olivar and Lluís Saumells . Since her first solo exhibition in 1980, Carme Pi has maintained a constant production, with a series of both individual and collective exhibitions. Currently, the artist continues to work actively from her studio in the upper part of Tarragona.
