The Pinnae Foundation presents the first edition of the GLOPS Biennial of Young Art , with the aim of stimulating and promoting visual arts projects among young artists from all over Catalonia. GLOPS aims to consolidate itself as a platform to promote emerging talent, with the aim of becoming a reference in the world of art and creativity for young people and offering artists the opportunity to exhibit their works in leading cultural spaces in Vilafranca del Penedès.
The Biennial was born with three clear objectives: firstly, it seeks to support artistic production and facilitate access for young creators to both national and international markets. It also aims to foster synergies between participating artists through collective exhibitions and an artistic residency program. Finally, it aims to raise public awareness of the importance of visual arts as a tool for reflection and cultural expression.
The call will be open to young people aged 18 to 35 , who may present individually or collectively. The call is specific to the visual arts but is not limited to any specific discipline or technique. The selected artists will have the opportunity to be part of a collective exhibition that will be presented in various cultural spaces and art galleries in Vilafranca del Penedès between November and December 2025.
The Biennial competition aims to select and exhibit up to twenty of the best works, from which the jury will choose three that will receive a financial prize of 1,500 euros each. In parallel, the artistic residency seeks to generate a creative process with three selected artists, who will have a space and resources for two months to develop their artistic production, with the economic, material and logistical support of the Biennial. This process will begin in September 2025 and will culminate with the exhibition of the works within the framework of the Biennial. Registrations to participate in both the competition and the residency will be open from February 12 to May 4 through the official website .
The jury is made up of a team of visual arts experts who will be in charge of evaluating the proposals and selecting the participating artists in this first edition. Among the members are Sílvia Muñoz d'Imbert , historian, art critic and independent curator; Roser Sanjuan , head of public programs at the La Panera Art Center; Pepa Quinteiro , director of the Anquin's art gallery; Francesca Piñol , specialized in cultural action at the Massana School; Montse Badia , co-founder and director of A*Desk and co-director of the Master in Contemporary Art at the University of Barcelona; Toni Asensio , coordinator of the Functional Sculpture Section of the Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of Barcelona; Sílvia Amigó , visual arts technician at the Vilafranca del Penedès Culture Service; Ricard Planas , linked to Bonart Cultural and the Lluís Coromina Foundation, and Mireia Camacho , teacher in the arts section of the Casal de Vilafranca.
The Motor Group that promoted this first edition of the Biennial is made up of most of the jury, as well as the technical team of the Pinnae Foundation and the Casal Societat La Principal.
