Antonio Madueño: paraliturgies

The Valvi Foundation opens the 2025 season with the exhibition 'Paraliturgies', a retrospective dedicated to Antonio Madueño (Barcelona, 1970). This exhibition offers a journey through the career of a multidisciplinary artist who combines disciplines as diverse as philosophy, singing (baritone), lutheria and performance.

Since his childhood, Madueño has lived between the two slopes of the Pyrenees, first in Ripoll and currently in Arles, near Céret, in Northern Catalonia. This experience has allowed him to establish a deep connection with Romanesque art, studying in depth the portal of Ripoll and recreating the ancient instruments that appear there. In his work, he has carried out actions on Catalan heritage, as well as land art. His performances and concerts of medieval music take place in monasteries, a proposal that adds an immersive dimension to his artistic creation.

The exhibition at the Valvi Foundation, which opens tomorrow, Tuesday, January 14 at 7 p.m. and can be visited until the end of February, will include a recreation of several of his most outstanding performances of recent years, as well as the sculptural elements that were part of them.
