Barcelona Crea Scholarship
Call to promote artistic research and cultural mediation in Barcelona.
E:\ \ART, a center for mediation, education and contemporary art in Barcelona, presents a new call for proposals aimed at creators, researchers and cultural agents residing in Catalonia. This initiative offers professionals from any discipline the opportunity to engage in a research process focused on mediation as an artistic practice with the capacity to generate critical contexts, collective practices and emancipatory perspectives.
With this grant, E:\ \ART wants to support artistic practice conceived as a research process based on mediation, a tool that allows rethinking and exploring the relationships between contemporary art, education and mediation. This line of work has the support of the Barcelona Institute of Culture (ICUB) and aims to strengthen pre-production processes, such as conceptualization, gestation, research, experimentation, documentation and essay, offering resources to develop research projects and artistic innovation.
The selected projects will receive not only a financial grant of €6,000, but also a workspace in the center's facilities, access to its resources, curatorial support and mentoring from the professional team, as well as support in dissemination and communication from E:\ \ART. This scholarship project, with a clear public and social value, promotes the projection of artistic talent linked to Barcelona through public and open calls.
Applications are now open until February 2nd , and creators, researchers and cultural agents of legal age, from any discipline, gender and nationality, as long as they are linked to the city of Barcelona, will be able to participate. The residency will take place between March and September 2025. In addition, an information session has been organized for January 20, 2025, at 5 p.m.
E:\ \ART is a non-profit association with a public service vocation, which works at the intersection between art and contemporary creative processes understood as educational action. The organization operates as a laboratory for experimentation and research where cultural mediation projects, specialized training programs and activities aimed at specific audiences are developed. Its main objective is to foster the critical and creative capacity of people through art and education.
