The Lluís Coromina Foundation inaugurates 'Joan Comalat, digitally (2002-2016)'

The Lluís Coromina Foundation presents Joan Comalat, digitally (2002-2016) , an exhibition with thirty-six unpublished photographs from the last years of the Banyoles artist, chosen from among the hundred thousand transferred to the Arxiu Marcal del Pla de l'Estany (Municipal Archive of Banyoles). The inauguration will take place on May 3 at 7 pm at the Espai Eat Art in Banyoles.

The exhibition reviews Joan Comalat's professional career as a photographer, and is divided into three different sections: press images, portraits and editorial images.

Known for his photographs of Salvador Dalí (1979), Joan Comalat is a photojournalist, artist and technical architect. In the field of the press, he was head of photography for El Punt Diari (1979-1985), and later, published photographs in different national and international media, and collaborated with the agency banc d AGE Fotostock images (1996-2015) and Diari de Girona (2002-2016).

Comalat is also the author of the collector's book 10.7=72 (1977), coordinated by Albert R. Guspí and with the participation of other photographers such as Formiguera, Millán, Fontcuberta, Ton Coma and Navarro, among others. In addition, he was a member of the 3 Peus Collective, from where he organized debates and exhibitions at the Llotja del Tint in Banyoles (1977-1978), and he was also co-founder and co-director of the Spectrum Cannon Gallery in Girona, together with Ramon Panosa and Joaquim Bosch (1980-1983).
