The Terracotta Museum opens on January 19 Enrajolats, an exhibition that can be visited in the "La Peixera" Space until April 14, 2024. The exhibition brings together the work of two local ceramists who stand out for the design of their pieces of high-quality mural ceramics: Irina Grosu, with specialized training in ceramic mural art at the National University of Art "George Enescu" Iasi (Romania), and Josep Motas, graduate in Industrial Design from the University of Girona and specialized in Design of interiors by the School of Art and Design Deià.

Since 2012, these two creators have presented their work together under the commercial name of Bussoga, an artistic and business project that starts from traditional coating ceramics decorated with the screen printing technique. Serigraphy is an engraving technique of oriental origin that was introduced to ceramics in the mid-fifties of the 20th century, and played an important role in the Bisbalen ceramic coating industry during the decades of the sixties and seventies. Bussoga recovers this traditional technique with a modern perspective, opting for shorter runs and with a process closer to craftsmanship.

In the Tiling exhibition we find a set of pieces that differ from their more usual production. Alongside the murals with screen-printed tiles, visitors will also be able to see other techniques such as an embossed mural made from pressed molds and where the concept of repetition continues to play. It also exhibits pieces made through the technique of tiling, that is, using tiles that have been cooked and cut with pliers to form new motifs, from wall pieces to three-dimensional creations such as a table in the shape of a pig .

Currently, the members of the Bussoga studio combine their artistic project with teaching, Irina is a teacher at the National University of Art “George Enescu” Iasi (Romania), and Josep at the Middle School of Artistic Ceramics and pottery taught at the Institut de la Bisbal. Since the creation of the workshop, his pieces have been seen in exhibitions throughout the state and Europe, such as in cities such as Barcelona, Madrid, Paris, Rome or Iali (Romania), as well as in exhibitions outside Europe such as Dubai or Mexico.
