Life, a plastic and sound experience

Life, a plastic and sound experience

Once the VIDA Festival in Vilanova i la Geltrú has finished, preparations are already underway for the next edition, which will be the tenth, and will therefore have some extras for the celebration, as it is one more day of the festival, from Thursday to Sunday.

This year VIDA opted for promising young people while presenting a line-up with established musicians and bands such as Suede. In the plastic and graphic aspect, the Comecocos martians shined in the various scenes and landscapes of this great festival that is celebrated around the Masia d'en Cabanyes, a neoclassical mansion where the pre-romantic poet Manuel de Cabanyes and the painter lived modernist Alexandre de Cabanyes, among other members of a lineage marked by the commercialization of Catalan wines.

The central element of the large esplanade where the two main stages are installed, Estrella Daurada and La Masia, was occupied by a minimal intervention, a set of semi-transparent cubic drums reinforced with metal bars that appealed to the idea of sustainability and the problems we are addressing around water. The nocturnal lighting gave this set a colorful and disturbing presence, families with children camped around it, which is one of the fundamental audiences of the VIDA festival.

The path to the grove referred to video games and there at the bottom a small geodesic dome invited the participants to play Martianitos from the 1980s, a classic.

All of VIDA breathes countryside and bucolicism, the location is perfect and also has the addition of la Daurada and la Tintorera, spaces by the sea that offer a complementary and early morning alternative on Saturday mornings.

Season tickets for next year are now on sale. And we hope it will be apotheosis and independent as the VIDA Festival in Vilanova i la Geltrú has always been.
