The call for the 3rd edition of the Barcelona Crea Scholarships is open

The third edition of the Barcelona Crea Scholarships is growing in modalities and number of grants. This initiative of the Institut de Cultura de Barcelona, born in 2020 and aimed at supporting scenic, musical, visual or literary creation in Barcelona, will this year award 175 grants (of 6,000 euros each) to projects that frame in one of the ten categories subject to the call: Creation in the performing arts; Experimentation and rehearsal in performing arts (new); Creation in visual arts; Musical creation; Audiovisual creation; Popular cultures; Literary creation and translation; Creation of audiovisual scripts; Creation in art and science and Community Creation (new). In total, the ICUB will allocate more than one million euros to the edition, which wants to contribute to the cultural and scientific impulse of the city by offering resources to people and creative groups for conceptualization, conception, research , experimentation, documentation and rehearsal of artistic proposals.

The Barcelona Crea 2023 Scholarships present a particularly relevant innovation, the creation of the + Scholarships, thanks to which some of the projects selected in the performing arts, visual, musical, audiovisual and art and science modalities will be able to benefit from a residence in one of the cultural facilities of the Creation Factories Network of the city, free of charge and for a period of time between two weeks and three months. The residencies provided by the Scholarships + will be carried out within two years of the notification of the grant of the aid.

The application submission period will remain open between January 9 and February 9 (both inclusive); natural persons over the age of 18, legally incorporated legal persons and groups of natural or legal persons without legal personality can take part in the call - in this case, through a representative. The proposals presented must be newly created and must be related to the city of Barcelona or its metropolitan area.
