The tenth edition of Girocòmic de Girona, Girona's comic, manga and entertainment fair, has consolidated its commitment to popular culture and has registered more than 10,000 visitors from all over Catalonia and Spain.
It should be remembered that this fair was held from October 10 to 12 at the Palau de Fires in Girona and once again brought together fans of comics, manga, illustration, cosplay and popular culture over the three days.
This year's edition coincided with the tenth anniversary of the Girocòmic and, as a novelty, this event has extended its duration by one day, taking advantage of the fact that Monday, October 12, was a public holiday.
During the course of this day, activities such as exhibitions, signings, conferences, workshops and displays were included, with a prominent presence from the world of cosplay and different disciplines linked to comic culture.
One of the outstanding elements was the poster created by Girona illustrator Adriana Von Hagen, who represented Cocollona , a characteristic figure of the Girona imagination, transformed into the protagonist of a scene inspired by superheroes.

Positive balance of the salon
As for those responsible for the fair, Joan S. Luna and Núria Sanguino were some of the visible faces of the organization during this edition. Both participated in a special broadcast of the Ràdio 3 Territorio 9 program, broadcast live from the Girocòmic.
According to the statements of Luna and Sanguino, "this edition is now heading towards the future with the aim of continuing to grow and maintaining Girona as a meeting point for fans of comics, manga, illustration and entertainment". And they added that "the balance is very positive. People have been congratulating us, as they have seen that the fair has had sustained growth, and, as a novelty, we have made a special effort to bring in about fifteen publishers, we have inaugurated a magic card area with many tables and we have also incorporated a reading and drawing space with the aim of making it a space of great interaction at the fair".
The organization also explained that, regarding the distribution of the show, "we wanted to put the conferences more in the center, as well as the signature space," and that, as it is three days long, "we must admit that it has meant more expense, but all the panels have worked very well for us."
Regarding the budget, Luna pointed out that "two years ago we had aid from the Ministry of Culture, which we have not had this year and it has been a big blow to us. We have had to fight harder and, in the end, the fruits of the previous edition are always reaped, that is, if people have a good memory, they come back. With the third day of the fair, costs have increased, but we can say that we have grown in visits."
Regarding the level of public attendance, the organization has incorporated the postal code option to know the origin of the visitors, who have mostly been from all over Catalonia and Spain (Castellón, Zaragoza, etc.) and Andorra.
