Piramidón Centre d'Art Contemporani has opened the call for the third edition of the Jordi Fulla Award, an initiative that aims to support visual artists interested in developing their practice in the artistic context of Barcelona. The award, which pays tribute to Jordi Fulla (Igualada, 1967 – 2019), has established itself as a platform for supporting contemporary creation and, at the same time, as a way of keeping alive the legacy of one of the artists who left a decisive mark on the history of Piramidón.

Fulla was one of the center's first residents and his career helped define its spirit: a space conceived for the coexistence of production, thought and artistic exchange. In this sense, the award not only commemorates his figure, but also prolongs a way of understanding artistic practice linked to research, process and the relationship with the context.

The call is aimed at visual artists of any nationality and offers the selected person a two-month residency at Piramidón, where they will have a private studio with integrated housing, access to the center's resources and facilities and professional support during their stay. The residency also provides for the artist's integration into the local and international community that orbits around Piramidón, through meetings, activities and actions to disseminate their work.

The Jordi Fulla Award is valued at 4,000 euros and includes, on the one hand, a two-month residency in a studio-home at the center, valued at 2,000 euros; on the other, 1,500 euros in fees for the selected artist —subject to invoice and current tax regulations—, as well as an allowance of up to 500 euros for artistic production during the residency period.

Regarding the requirements, the call for applications asks that candidates demonstrate, in the last three years, at least one solo exhibition in a gallery or artistic institution, as well as participation in a national or international art fair. This profile responds to the award's desire to support careers that have already begun, offering a working context that favors both the consolidation of practice and the opening of new lines of research.
