From July 5 to 27, 2025, the Lo Pati Art Center, located in Amposta, will host the sound installation "Listening with the Blue Swimmer" by Norwegian artist Jana Winderen. This work, curated by Arnau Horta, is part of the Eufònic festival, an event dedicated to sound, visual and digital-performative arts.

Jana Winderen, born in Bodø in 1965, is renowned for her expertise in field recordings and the creation of immersive installations that explore often inaudible acoustic landscapes. Her work focuses on the capture of underwater sounds using hydrophones, which make sounds that normally remain beyond our perceptual reach accessible to the human ear.

The installation presented at Lo Pati is the result of an eco-acoustic research carried out in the Ebro Delta, where Winderen recorded sounds of various aquatic species during an artistic residency in Baladre. This experience allowed him to connect with the local ecosystem and explore the inaudible communications that take place in the aquatic environment.

The installation not only includes a sound experience, but also presents a mediation space with drawings of species from the territory and scientific articles related to previous research. Thus, Winderen combines sound, drawing and scientific research to offer a multidimensional vision of the Delta ecosystem.

With over 25 years of experience, Winderen has exhibited at prestigious institutions such as MoMA in New York and Tate Modern. His work stands out for its ability to make visible the sonic realities that often remain hidden, revealing the complexity of the underwater world and its importance in the ecological balance.

The opening of "Listening with the Blue Swimmer" will take place on July 5 at 7:00 p.m., and the work will be available for viewing until July 27. This installation is presented as a unique opportunity to reflect on our relationship with the environment and the need to preserve aquatic ecosystems in a context of climate emergency.
