Palma becomes the epicenter of art with a new edition of the Nit de l'Art

The streets, galleries and cultural spaces of Palma are transformed once again to give life to the Nit de l'Art , one of the most emblematic events in the cultural calendar of the Balearic Islands. This event, which marks the symbolic start of the artistic season, brings together local and international artists, professionals from the sector, collectors and an increasingly large and diverse public.

During the night, art leaves conventional spaces to invade the city: galleries, museums and independent spaces open their doors with new exhibitions, inaugurations and live performances, while the historic center becomes a large stage open to contemporary creation. Beyond being an art festival, the Nit de l'Art is also an invitation to dialogue, discovery and reflection, at a time when Palma is reclaiming its role as a meeting point and cultural reference in the Mediterranean.

The 14 galleries that are currently part of Art Palma Contemporani are: ABA ART, BARÓ, CCA Andratx, Fermay Gallery, Hauser & Wirth Menorca, LA BIBI + REUS, KEWENIG, Florit / Florit, 6a Taller i Galeria, Galería Maior, Galería Pelaires, Pep Llabrés Art Contemporani, Tube Gallery and Galería Xavier Fiol.

With proposals that cover various disciplines —from painting and sculpture to audiovisual and sound art—, the city reaffirms itself as a living and effervescent space where art is experienced in the streets and with people. When it began almost 30 years ago, the Nit de l'Art was a pioneering event in the State. Today it has become an unmissable and highly anticipated event, as demonstrated by the large number of people who made Palma's main streets and squares vibrate yesterday.

Each and every one of the crossings included in the circuit of a broad program —both in quantity and quality—became authentic lungs of a city that not only breathes art, but also inspires it, inhales it, lives it and feels it. Palma was, for one night, a capital in capital letters: that of creative thought, that of contemporary art, that of a community that gets involved, that observes and that shares. An event that demonstrates, once again, that art does not only occupy spaces, but transforms them.

Art Palma Contemporani has also announced the first edition of the Mallorca Photofest, which will take place from 25 April to 30 August 2026 and will be held biennially. With this initiative, the association reaffirms its commitment to contemporary photography and takes a step forward in enriching its cultural calendar.

The Mallorca Photofest thus joins the three consolidated annual events of Art Palma Contemporani: the Nit de l'Art in September, the Art Palma Brunch at the end of March and the Art Palma Summer during the month of June. All three are part of a program that, year after year, positions Palma as a pole of attraction for contemporary art both locally and internationally.
