Before the arrival of summer, the opening of the new exhibition at the Vigo Museum of Contemporary Art (MARCO), curated by Laura Lio and entitled "Zume e sangue" ( Zume and Blood) , will take place until September 21.

A solo exhibition by the Buenos Aires-born artist, now based in Madrid, featuring works from various museums in Spain, curated by Miguel Fernández-Cid and Pilar Souto. A tour that perfectly describes the Argentine artist's entire repertoire, her artistic language, and her critique of contemporary society.

Laura Lio creates works based on a strong social, political, ecological, feminist, and collective commitment—elements characteristic of today's society—but she goes further with rigorously created, extremely methodical works in search of an internal order perceived by nature itself.

At MARCO in Vigo, you can view Laura Lio's books, treated as objects and visual poems, in a form of dialogue with the eye. They narrate and explain possible experiences and memories, while also adding critical messages about all the elements Lio addresses and creates. She also adds a much more direct and urban work to her repertoire, with interventions on advertising posters, fragmented and connected to realities.
