The Montserrat Museum is currently hosting a project that connects contemporary art and climbing. Artist Aina Vila Farrés is presenting Entre códols , an exhibition that takes the mountain of Montserrat as its starting point to transform the profiles of its climbing routes into sculptural metal pieces.

This initiative approaches the world of hiking and the mountain tradition that has marked the history of Montserrat, a place closely linked to the first ascents in the country. Vila Farrés, originally from Arenys de Munt, has long been exploring the expressive possibilities of iron and, on this occasion, has wanted to transfer to artistic language the sensation and movement that accompany climbing. The sculptures represent emblematic routes and needles of Montserrat, converting the vertical route into a plastic form. Entre pebbles can be visited until September 28 at the same museum, located at the foot of the Benedictine monastery. According to the director G. Xavier Caballé, “Aina Vila is perceptive enough to know how to read the profile of the climbing routes with an artist's eyes” and assures that whoever approaches the exhibition “will find an art that is born from the natural wonder that is Montserrat, a mountainous relief almost unique in the world”.
