Déria, psychoenergetic woodcut
Gerard Fisa Biscarri presents at Can Xerta, the old paper mill of Sant Pere de Riudebitlles, the exhibition of his engravings accompanied by the matrices in a pedagogical exercise that combines colors and shapes. Fully involved in the organization of the Circuit d'Art de Sant Feliu which this year has reached its third edition, Gerard has stolen time from time to time to assemble his psychoenergetic woodcuts, composing sets of telluric force and structuring the spaces with crosses of a latticed organicist. Each of the areas exudes dynamism and intensity, liveliness and vibration, forcefulness and positive spirit.
During the afternoon of the inauguration last Saturday, June 14, his musical acolytes Jordi Sabat and Valentí Querol performed a concert of intimate poetic intensity: Dylan, Lennon and Bach chosen and rehearsed for the occasion, unique and unrepeatable of the serene harmony of the guitar and the "cajon", of the double bass accompanied by the cries of the falciots that crossed the sky framed by the houses of the river, the old paper factories and the ancient palaces with ancestral coats of arms. The crucifixion or the part of a body nailed to the cross and its two angels collecting the blood is a theme that Gerard has perpetrated by sending his spirit to the Pre-Raphaelites, you wonder why and how he would have come to intuit this fragmented, outlined altarpiece, only a part that evokes the whole, in a visual game that recalls synecdoche, a kind of metonymy, rhetorical figures, literary resources applied to its physical and artistic plan.
