Ale de la Puente: turbulences of the void

A dialogue between science, time and the cosmos at the Casa de México Foundation.

Mónica Miles madrid - 31/01/25

The Casa de México Foundation begins 2025 with the exhibition 'Turbulences of Emptiness' by Mexican artist Ale de la Puente (Mexico City, 1968) . The exhibition, composed of 8 works that reflect the artist's interest in science, time and the cosmos, takes its name from her main work of the same name, a multidisciplinary piece that combines textile, sound and light art.

Curated by Graciela Kasep and open to the public until the end of April, the exhibition has been designed through a journey that brings together elements that combine visual metaphors and narrative texts as a dialogue. The exhibition names what is not palpable and transforms invisible phenomena into something poetic and visible. The journey includes the projection of five videos of her own creation in which the artist proposes different reflections on art, movement, history and nature.

Ale de la Puente: turbulences of the void

Ale de la Puente's work explores notions of time through the poeticization of experiences given by the observation of space, from a technological, scientific, philosophical and even linguistic approach, using different media and supports, be they pictorial, sculptural, mechanical, photographic, sound and filmic, including art-science expeditions in the search for symbolic natural phenomena, in how we signify them and how we relate to this meaning. The exhibition will be complemented by performance interventions by Mexican dancers Samantha Escobar and Engel de Jesús.
