In a universe of vibrant colors and delicate shapes, Didier Lourenço found his artistic voice. His work, filled with optimism and celebration of life, becomes a reflection of his warm and approachable character.

The passage of time, nature and the female figure have been constant in his work, giving life to intimate landscapes and scenes of calm. Now, the Jordi Barnadas Gallery opens its doors with the exhibition 'Didier Lourenço. Forever', an exhibition that pays tribute to his vast career and that can be visited until October 19.

Lourenço was born in Premià de Mar in 1968 and from a young age was fascinated by art thanks to his father's lithography workshop. This early connection with lithography would become one of the constants of his career, along with oil painting. In 1988, at just twenty years old, he presented his first solo exhibition, a beginning that would mark his path in the world of art. But it was three years later, in 1991, when he obtained the recognition that would catapult him onto the artistic scene, by winning a prize for young painters. This award opened the doors to national and international galleries, where his work would begin to acquire a global projection.

His style quickly consolidated, and his compositions, full of textures and vivid colors, became an unmistakable signature. Just like the bicycle, a recurring element in his works, which symbolized freedom and harmonious movement, his painting also moved fluidly between reality and fantasy, connecting with the viewer from vitality and joy. At the end of the 90s, Didier already had his own workshop, where he devoted himself fully to pictorial creation. His work, exhibited in cities such as New York, Seattle, Los Angeles, Hong Kong and Singapore, spread throughout the world.

'Didier Lourenço Forever' inaugurates a cycle of commemorative exhibitions that will tour several galleries:

  • El Claustre Gallery in Girona, from October 25 to November 9, 2024.
  • Figueres Cloister Gallery, from February 7 to 22, 2025.
  • Anquins's Gallery in Reus, from November 22, 2024 to January 18, 2025.
  • The Sant Cugat Gallery, from April 25 to June 21, 2025
