'Barbary Maps' at the Cabanes Foundation

From last September 2023 you can visit the temporary exhibition entitled Cartographies of Barbàrie, scars of the Mediterranean by the artist Pep Puig from Sant Cugat. In this exhibition Puig crosses the barriers between the beauty of the Mediterranean and the tragedy of the thousands of displaced people who shipwreck and disappear in its blue waters. Whether with paintings, sculptures, photographs or audiovisuals, his work invites us to dive into a reality hidden under the layer of indifference, ignorance and cruelty of the powerful.
According to cultural manager Diego Berardo "art must empathize with people. Pep, with Cartographies de la Barbàrie, questions us with scars and wounds that are still open. Who are these more than twenty-five thousand disappeared? How can they be NN if they are daughters and sons, friends and friends, mothers, fathers or neighbors?".

Visiting hours at the Foundation are from Tuesday to Friday from 10:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. in the evening. On Saturdays it is open from 11:00 to 14:00 and from 16:00 to 20:00 in the evening and on Sundays and public holidays from 10:30 to 14:30.
