Between May 3 and June 27, 2023, the Spanish ambassador's residence in Washington, United States, will host four paintings and a sculpture by Joan Miró and a selection of photographs by Joaquim Gomis, friend of the artist and first president of the Joan Miró Foundation. The selection of paintings and sculptures from the last stage of Joan Miró highlights their significant character. The initiative is part of the Joan Miró Foundation's vocation to spread the artist's work internationally.

The Univers Miró project arrives in the United States after being presented, between 2019 and 2023, at the diplomatic representations of Spain in Rome, Berlin, Dublin, Brussels, Paris and New Delhi, as well as at the Cultural Center of Spain in Mexico and at the Museo de Arte de Puerto Rico, thanks to the collaboration between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the European Union and Cooperation, Abertis and its Foundation, and the Joan Miró Foundation. Abertis, through its Foundation and its subsidiaries in the United States, has collaborated to bring this project to the country with the aim of promoting Spanish culture and publicizing this selection of works in one of the territories where it is present
