The magazine Bonart in its number 197 - corresponding to the months of March to September 2023 - has as protagonists the works of Albert Serra and Eduard Bigas who occupy the covers of bonart and malart.

Catalonia and the Venice Architecture Biennale occupy the central pages of bonart magazine with the reflections of Marc Riera, Roger Subirà and Josep Muntañola Thornberg on the history of this event, the Catalan representation throughout the last editions and the role of architecture in the social fabric. The magazine contains an interview with Jaume Perarnau Llorens , director of the National Museum of Science and Technology of Catalonia MNACTEC and covers the programming of the Ull Nu and LandArt d'Andorra festivals, among other activities. The return of Eduard Bigas , after ten years without exhibiting in Catalonia, and the beginning of a cycle of exhibitions and activities that will take place in various centers in Girona; the birthday of Albert Ràfols-Casamada, Antoni Tàpies and Romà Vallès or the birth of a new generation of artists difficult to label, but with many points in common complete an issue that has opinion articles by Luis Antonio de Villena, Xavier Barral, Aina Mercader, Natàlia Lloreta, Lídia Penelo, Albert Mercadé, Joan M. Minguet Batllori or David G. Torres .

Malart magazine dedicates its central monograph to the film Pacifiction by Albert Serra and offers the reader a new position. The visual power of the film's images is the trigger for an open, suggestive and disturbing aesthetic experience. On the other hand, the texts of Llucià Homs , Gervasio Sánchez and Anna Carreras make up the library section. As a novelty, this issue expands the pages dedicated to the International section and includes a report on the Picasso Year as well as an echo of exhibitions of Catalan artists in the rest of the State and Europe.

Malart also collects the exhibitions of Ilse Bing and Anastasya Samoylova at the Mapfre Foundation ; García Sevilla at the Tecla Sala ; Jaume Plensa at the Catalunya La Pedrera Foundation ; Carlos Pazos at the Vila Casas Foundation ; Josep Royo at MAMT ; My body knows unheard songs, the flesh says ver, I am spacious flesh that sings at the Bòlit or Gorka Piñol at the Arranz-Bravo Foundation , among many other exhibitions and news that fill the pages of this issue's magazine.

The author of the Bonart cover (Infinity, 2019) is Eduard Bigas . His works are made up of strange dreamlike forms that weave and interact, suspended in a perpetual and distinct rhythm, as in a continuous fall, whether flying high or making his way through a featureless nothingness. Combining a spontaneous and automatic directness with a great eye for balance, Bigas creates an eclectic mix of imagination, intuition and feeling. The artist's distinctive technique is powerfully displayed in each of his evocative works, often imbuing them with a peculiar resonance of his own lyricism and gesture.

The cover of Malart corresponds to a fragment of the film Pacifiction by Albert Serra , film director and founder of the production company Andergraun Films, together with the producer Montse Triola and the businessman Lluís Coromina . The Death of Louis XIV (2016) and Honor of Chivalry (2006) are among his most acclaimed films by critics and audiences. Pacifiction has been awarded the Louis Delluc prize and has been chosen as the best film of the year by Cahiers du Cinéma magazine.

The typography used for the header of this issue is Circle Display by Oriol Fuster Garcia in the project with the Escola d'Olot coordinated by Gemma Reixach .
