Next Saturday, September 20, Art Palma Contemporani will inaugurate the 29th edition of the Nit de l'Art, a landmark event that marks the start of the season for contemporary art galleries on the island.

This event is organized by Art Palma Contemporani, the association of contemporary art galleries in Mallorca. Since its founding in 2004, this group has included iconic and internationally renowned galleries.

Currently, Art Palma Contemporani is made up of a total of fourteen member galleries. APC members have organized the Nit de l'Art since 1997, and since 2005 and 2016, they have added Art Palma Brunch (in March) and Art Palma Summer (in June) to their annual events program. These are mass-attendance events that offer high-quality exhibitions and a wealth of contemporary culture.

Art Palma is made up of the following galleries: ABA ART, BARÓ, CCA Andratx, Fermay Gallery, Hauser & Wirth Menorca, LA BIBI + REUS, KEWENIG, Florit / Florit, 6a Taller i Galeria, Maior Gallery, Pelaires Gallery, Pep Llabrés Art Contemporani, Tube Gallery and Xavier Fiol Gallery.

According to sources from the organization, each of the galleries at this 29th edition of the Nit de l'Art is working on proposals with very diverse artists and languages, making this major annual event an unbeatable opportunity to approach contemporary art and culture through established artists and young talents, both locally and internationally.

For almost three decades, the Nit de l'Art has marked the beginning of the art season, an event that has become a true cultural celebration and a benchmark for contemporary art. In terms of opening hours, the Nit de l'Art offers participating galleries and public and private institutions opening hours from 6:00 PM to 11:00 PM on Saturday, September 20.

A wide program of parallel activities

In addition to this major event, other very special public events will take place in the days leading up to September 20th. These events include talks, presentations, openings, and a wealth of art, not only from the Art Palma Contemporani galleries but also from participating institutions. The full program for the Nit de l'Art will be published in September. Furthermore, the Art Palma Contemporani website and IG are fully accessible to those interested. APC has announced that it also offers an extensive range of guided tours, in several languages, led by industry professionals. Available to the general public and completely free of charge, these tours of the Art Palma Contemporani galleries aim to offer a comprehensive and rich look at each of the participating artists' projects and to explore their galleries.

Furthermore, Art Palma Contemporani has announced that it is working to attract prominent national and international professionals who will visit galleries and institutions in the days leading up to and during Art Night and gain a deeper understanding of the local scene.

Institutions

In addition to the eagerly awaited program of Mallorca's most prominent institutions, such as Es Baluard, Casal Solleric, Fundació Miró Mallorca, and La Misericordia, there are new institutional presences, such as the Official College of Architects of the Balearic Islands. The COAIB will participate this year in the Night of Art 2025 with the project " Vessant amor " (Love), by the artist Pep Llambías, created in collaboration with the writer Carme Riera, to mark the 50th anniversary of her story " Te deix amor la mar com a penyora" (Love Gives You the Sea as a Penyora ). This project was curated by Montse Torrás.

The Juan March Palma Foundation is proposing a new annual event in which art and culture professionals will discuss the diverse economies affecting the contemporary art world. The event, entitled Is Art What It's Worth, or What It Costs?, will be held on Thursday, September 1st at 6:00 PM.

ADEMA University School is once again participating in Art Night with two events: the group exhibition " El Umbral" by fourth-year students of the Bachelor's Degree in Fine Arts at the Barceló Foundation, and the screening of a video mapping in the Aljub de La Misericòrdia. Third-year students of the Bachelor's Degree in Fine Arts from ADEMA are also participating in the event for the third consecutive year with the Exhibition Experiences program at the Nivia Born Boutique Hotel. Finally, the ICAIB (Bar Association of the Balearic Islands) is participating in the program with an exhibition by Francisco Castillo Domínguez.
