The 23rd edition of the Loop Festival, under the title Miratges / Mirages , connects its multiple projects to highlight how moving images can generate visions and special encounters. Traditionally, a mirage has been associated with a negative idea: a deceptive illusion, a dangerous perspective or an irresistible force of attraction. However, it is also an aesthetic and artistic phenomenon: cinema and literature, both for children and adults, often present it as a magical experience that arises in moments of need. This 23rd edition of the Loop Festival reinterprets the mirage as the materialization of the desired: images that appear, even if only fleetingly, to offer joy, energy, confidence and enthusiasm.

Strawberry Fields by Julia Montilla.
The Loop Festival (November 11-22), under the artistic direction of Filipa Ramos and with the curatorial assistance of Eva Paià, is a ten-day event that combines exhibitions, talks, performances and meetings, highlighting the importance of video and auteur cinema. The activities are distributed across various cultural and artistic spaces in the city, creating a journey that connects the public and contemporary creation.
Among the numerous proposals in the Loop Festival's program of exhibitions, live performances, talks and activities, very diverse projects stand out: the exhibition To the Wind at Casa Elizalde, by the artist Mar Reykjavik, which reflects on the links between translation and censorship; the screening of the film Garden of Electric Delights by Billy Roisz, curated by Júlia Polo at Casa Seat, focused on interferences and materiality in cinema; On Lines , the first live audiovisual collaboration between the experimental music of Dania Shihab and the filmmaker Carlos Vásquez Méndez, who explore the concept of line as border and threshold at the CCCB, in collaboration with L'Alternativa, the Barcelona Independent Film Festival; and Trùng mù – Endless, sightless , a screening and conversation with the artist Phuong Linh Nguyen at MACBA, in collaboration with the Han Nefkens Foundation.

The burning of Elena del Rivero.
Strawberry Fields , the winning film of the Video Creation Award by Julia Montilla, will also be presented at La Fabra; a solo exhibition by Ana Vaz at the Museu de la Música, curated by einaidea, which shows key works on historical and contemporary colonialism and the coexistence of human and non-human forms; and the exhibition by Joan Jonas at the Museu Picasso, which establishes a dialogue with the artist's legacy, focused on political commitment and art as a tool of resistance.
Other activities include the screening of the film Fe sense obres morta és by Albert Serra at the Tàpies Museum, which delves into emotional and surprising aspects of the artist's universe; screenings of Elena del Rivero's works at Soho House; an exhibition by Elyla at the Enric Miralles Foundation; the presentation of a book about the Los Ingrávidos collective; and a live concert by João Pais.
