Breathe the art of the north: the alliance between four museums
bonart bilbao - 25/06/25

Contemplation and enjoyment in the partnership between the MUN (University Museum of Navarra), Centro Botín (Santander), Chillida Leku (Hernani), and the Bilbao Fine Arts Museum. For the occasion, the four art spaces in northern Spain are designing a shared ticket, in addition to adding multiple benefits.

The organizations collaborate to disseminate their proposals, in addition to facilitating the entry of new audiences seeking to promote artistic dissemination. In the future, we also aspire to generate synergies between collections and exhibitions, explains Jaime García del Barrio, director of the University of Navarra Museum.

Four distinct spaces, each with a variety of essences, each with its own complementary and attractive features, each in keeping with its location, nature, and mission. The Centro Botín is an international art center whose mission is to foster creativity through the arts to generate economic, social, and cultural development; Chillida Leku represents the living memory of one of the most internationally recognized Basque artists. Its goal is to foster alliances and collaborative projects to disseminate Eduardo Chillida's artistic legacy.

The Bilbao Fine Arts Museum, which remains open to the public, will open the extension designed by Norman Foster and Luis Mari Uriarte in 2026; the MUN is celebrating its tenth anniversary and is offering visitors a complimentary book this year.

"This alliance will renew the vitality of a century-old institution that aspires to contribute decisively to the cultural fabric of the region and the broader network of which we are already a part," says Miguel Zugaza, director of the Bilbao Fine Arts Museum.
