Barcelona has added a new space dedicated to contemporary art: the Seltz gallery , located in the Eixample, which is already warming up to make its entrance on the scene. With almost 400 square meters dedicated to exhibitions, this new meeting point for art wants to become an active and close place, where different visual languages and generations of artists coexist. At the helm is Lorena Pizarro , with a career spanning more than two decades in the art world, who is committed to a varied, dynamic and open program for everyone. It will also have the advice of José Luis Pérez Pont , a prominent figure in the sector who has worked for institutions such as the CCCC of Valencia and the Consortium of Museums of the Valencian Community.
The official opening will be on April 24, with an exhibition dedicated to Cristina García Rodero, recognized for her committed gaze and her photographic work focused on the human condition. The exhibition, entitled Con la boca abierta, brings together 77 photographs by the artist, a member of the Magnum agency and winner of the National Photography Prize in 1996. The one in Barcelona will be her first solo exhibition in the city and will allow us to take a tour of her career spanning more than forty years behind the camera.

Beyond this inaugural exhibition, the gallery already has a program planned with well-known names and very diverse styles. Among the artists who will visit Seltz are figures such as Mateo Maté , Miaz Brothers , Cristina De Middel , Iván Forcadell , Javier Núñez Gasco , Juan Olivares , AGGTELEK , Isidro López-Aparicio , Marina Vargas , Rosa Brun , Mónica Jover Calvo , Marina Capdevila , CACHETEJACK , Doa Oa , Artemio Narro , Mar Solís and Francesc Torres . The idea is to show a plural and heterogeneous scene, which combines traditional techniques and new practices, from painting and sculpture to video art or the most experimental digital proposals. “Seltz is born as an open, dynamic and welcoming space, designed both for long-term collectors and for those who want to gradually get started in this exciting world”, expressed the director.
