The Biennial will promote and give visibility to contemporary crafts from Catalonia, highlighting both the technique and the artisanal process as well as the concept behind each work. This event seeks to place Catalan crafts on the international artistic scene, reinforcing their prestige and facilitating the creation of synergies and business opportunities for professionals in the sector.
The main objective is to seek the maximum interrelation between Art (Creativity) and (Art)esania. To look for proposals that work with essential materials of craftsmanship such as, for example, textiles, wood, ceramics, iron, glass, etc. Based on these elements, we look for contemporary authors who have strategically allied themselves with these materials and have made them the flagship of their creative corpus . We will also go a little further and look at the processes to arrive at creations using concepts such as circular economy -to reuse everything-, sustainability, climate emergency, total creativity outside the limits of the codes of fine arts, beauty -with the infinite codes we have of beauty-, we propose an edition where the limits are tense, dialogue, break if necessary. This is the first and last intention of this edition, sewing universes while we play with going to the limits that no one knows quite where they begin and end. This is the maximum interest of this proposal, to continuously raise questions.
