"Painted Women. Works from the Bassat Collection"
bonart sant andreu de llavaneres - 30/05/22

The Museum Archive of Sant Andreu de Llavaneres presents, until July 31, Women Painted. Works from the Bassat Collection.

The exhibition responds to a personal selection by the curator, Núria Poch, of works by eleven artists who have represented women. They are not portraits, they are painted women. There are works from different decades, from novice artists when they were painted and from then-established artists. Some artists have two works, only one. God is a painter and one is a painter. There are women painted alone, women accompanied, some indoors and some outdoors. It is an expressly eclectic exhibition so that it is representative of the creative greatness of its authors and of those who have collected them, Carmen and Lluís Bassat.

The artists on display are Héctor Ameal, Eduard Arranz-Bravo, Francesc Artigau, Rafael Bartolozzi, Joan Brotat, Joan Hernández Pijuan, Montserrat Gudiol, Josep Guinovart, Josep Novellas, Narcís Serinyà and Xavier Serra de Rivera.
